It's like a modern retro Lotus. Vintage Lotus with a Vintage-ish Toyota engine, it's perfect.

Kinda ugly though. Looks like a hearse for hobbits. Only my opinion of course.
OTOH, I saw a black Esprit come up fast behind me on the highway. Wow! that had presence - low, wide, move over now it said.

I would have thought oppos would go nuts over this, it's a classic shooting brake? I think?

Really?? You're posting such a gorgeous and rare old car and these are the pictures you include? I don't understand people on Craigslist. I put way more and detailed pictures on the ad for my buddies beat up Ranger.
Come on, guys...

I love the Europa, and fully intend to get one the moment I'm able to do so.
That said, I don't know about buying a fully-done one for 15 grand. Maybe it's just me (and my incessant need to tinker) but I'd rather pick up a rough one for much less, and redo it myself. It'd likely end up costing no more, I'd get the enjoyment of doing it, and in the end it's that much more 'mine.'
It is very, very, very nice though.

Those are bad pics in the ad. If you've never seen one, you'd never get the sense of what it looks like. I can see where you might think shooting brake. The engine is back there except so many cars look better doing that, NSX, MR-2, Fiero, Esprit, every Ferrari, Lambo, R8. I think the engineer Colin Chapman fired the designer Colin Chapman. Form follows function and all but the marriage in this case came out with something like Down's Syndrome. Only my opinion - don't tattle on me to Garrett, Jordan, and MM54 down below.

Wow, I never knew it was mid/rear engined! Now that I know that... Huh. Its got a really 80s profile for something from the 60s, but not in a good way.
I thought it was a wagon or shooting brake with a really low rear compartment

Think of a mix of a couple of previous cars. First... Ferrari 250 GT "bread van"
And the mid-engined 250 LM.
Colin Chapman put his take on these forms, lighter, smaller, and more affordable... and you get Europa, predecessor to Esprit that was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro instead, but on a similar, updated drivetrain.
